Leduc County collaborates
with the Province and other municipalities to develop concept or
functional planning studies (FPSs), which outline long-term
requirements for the ultimate design of the roadway within
a specified study area. These
FPSs recommend roadway structure, design
standards, horizontal and vertical alignment, right-of-way requirements,
intersection requirements, and access control.
These FPSs take into consideration the
current and future needs of key stakeholders, while developing
recommendations for mutually beneficial long-term solutions.
Public consultation, specifically open
houses, is a key tool used in the development of FPSs. These open houses
provide an opportunity for key stakeholders and landowners within the
specified study area, to review the information and concepts presented,
ask questions and provide feedback.
