Spring photo contest winner announced

Leduc County is pleased to award a local amateur photographer for their submission for the third instalment of Leduc County’s Municipal Development Plan (MDP) update photo contest.

Leduc County resident Darcie Goudreau received 157 votes from the public – the most of the six photos submitted – for their photo “King of the county.”

“Leduc County residents continue to capture the character of Leduc County in their submissions supporting the Municipal Development Plan update,” says Laurie Johnson, senior planner and MDP project manager. “We are pleased by the participation in this contest as well as in the MDP update project.”

Goudreau will receive a Leduc County prize package, including a 16GB iPod touch, and the photo will be featured in future Leduc County publications.

Each season, the county is hosting an amateur photo contest to collect images that capture the character of Leduc County. The summer photo contest runs from May 1 to June 30, 2016. Show us your favourite scenes, vistas, events, activities or places in Leduc County for your chance to win a Leduc County prize.

The MDP is Leduc County's plan for the future. It is the roadmap for how the county will grow and develop over a 25- to 30-year period by guiding future land use and policy decisions. Leduc County is updating its MDP to ensure development is sustainable and provides a high quality of life for current and future residents. The project is now in its third phase.
