2017 Dust Suppression Program

We wish to advise that changes have been made to the 2017 dust suppression program.

In order to provide a consistent deadline, which allows the program to be implemented as early as possible according to spring conditions, the deadline for dust suppression has been moved up to May 5.

Applications complete with payment must be received by public works and engineering no later than May 5. APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE MAY 5 DEADLINE.

After road bans have been removed, dust suppression product will be applied to the road as soon as possible.

Residents have two product choices:

1) Calcium Chloride – Two applications of product will be done for every residence applying for this dust suppression product. The second application will be automatically applied approximately 6-8 weeks following the first application (Weather permitting)
All residents desiring a calcium chloride dust control product on the county road adjacent to their residence will be required to complete an application form and to prepay a fee of $341.21, plus GST, for the first 122 metres (400 feet). Leduc County provides a subsidy of $618.30 for this strip. Dust suppression requested beyond 122 metres (400 feet) will be charged at $7.86/metre, plus GST.

2) Incorporated DL10 – warrantied one year from date of application
All residents desiring a DL10 incorporated dust control product on the county road adjacent to their residence will be required to complete an application form and to prepay a fee of $2,945.27, plus GST, for the first 122 metres (400 feet). Leduc County provides a subsidy of $618.30 for this strip. Dust suppression requested beyond 122 metres (400 feet) will be charged at $29.21/metre, plus GST.
