Notice of public hearing: proposed bylaws to amend the Land Use Bylaw 7-08

The purpose of the proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 7-08, as it affects approximately 9.4 ha± ( 23.22 ac±), located at Lot 6, Block 1, Plan 062 2076 within NE 31-50-24-W4 is to redistrict the subject lands from the AG - Agricultural District to RU1 (Residential Urban 1) and RU2 (Residential Urban 2).

The purpose of the second proposed amendment to the Land Use Bylaw 7-08, as it affects approximately 28.5 ha± (70.42 ac±) located at Lot C, 1470 NY and Lot 1, Plan 902 2899 within NE 31-50-24-W4; is to redistrict the subject lands from the AG - Agricultural District to RU1 (Residential Urban 1) and RU2 (Residential Urban 2).

The subject lands are located immediately west of Lukas Estates and east of Nisku Business Park and Irvine Creek on Range Road 245. The intent of the applicant’s is a residential urban style development that is readily accessible to surrounding municipalities in the greater capital region.

The public hearings will be presented to Leduc County Council on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 2:00 p.m and 2:15 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible. The public hearing concerning the proposed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw 7-08 will be held in the council chamber of County Centre, at which time written and oral submissions can be presented to council. Submissions may be made by any person(s) who claim to be affected by the proposed amendment or from any other person whom council agrees to hear.

Any written submissions that are mailed or delivered to Leduc County, Suite 101, 1101-5 Street, Nisku, AB T9E 2X3 or faxed to 780-955-8866 by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, will be included on the council agenda. Written and oral submissions may be made at the council meeting, without prior notification to Leduc County. If you make a written submission, the information you provide will be made public along with your name and legal address, subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Copies of the proposed amending bylaw as well as any related information may be inspected at County Centre in the Planning and Development offices between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
