Solid waste collection vendor change

New Sarepta residents:

The solid waste curbside pickup contractor in New Sarepta is changing in 2018.

Leduc County put out an invitation to tender earlier this year for curbside pickup contractors. The contract was awarded to Stony Mountain Waste Management Ltd. The duration of the contract is three years.

An additional collection day has been scheduled for Dec. 28 to reduce customer inconvenience from the bin change out occurring over the holiday season. Current waste collection bins will be picked up by GFL on Dec. 28. Stony Mountain Waste Management Ltd. will provide a new bin on Friday, Dec. 29.

Please place your bin at your curbside by 7 a.m. on Dec. 28 and leave it there until it is collected (you may fill your bin with trash that day, as it is a regularly scheduled pick-up day). If your bin is not placed outside on Thursday, Dec. 28, you may be subject to a $100 bin replacement fee.

Solid waste collection days will continue to be on Thursdays, occurring bi-weekly during winter months and weekly during summer months.  An annual solid waste collection schedule will be mailed out in the New Year. The collection schedule for Jan. 2018 is Jan. 4 and 18.
