The Agricultural Service Board (ASB) is a sub-committee of Leduc County Council. This board is tasked with applying sections of the Agricultural Service Board Act and working in an advisory capacity to Council on matters in accordance with duties, powers, and functions outlined in:
Along with the above responsibilities, the ASB promotes the sound management of surface water (drainage) on agricultural lands. Direction on programs and services is provided to Leduc County Agricultural Services in regard to and accordance with the budget as adopted by Leduc County Council. The board consists of all seven elected Leduc County councillors and two public members-at-large appointed by Council with a two year term. The board elects a chair and vice-chair following the Council's annual organizational meeting. The ASB has the same power as County Council; however, the board does not have:
The board typically meets seven times annually on the second Monday of the month in January, March, April, June, September, November and December.
