Leduc County Policy

Leduc County is committed to leadership to conserve, protect and enhance the environment for the benefit of its residents.

Leduc County has an influence on the local and surrounding environment. It will demonstrate leadership by:

a.) recognizing the need for compliance with laws;

b.) ensuring that considerations are part of the Leduc County’s decision making process;

c.) developing a framework for an management system that will enable the County to exercise due diligence in attempting to prevent incidents that may adversely affect the environment and in responding to such incidents if they do occur;

d.) encouraging and demonstrating conservation of resources and reduction of waste;

increasing employee training in occupational health and safety;

f.) promoting stewardship though the work carried out by the County's Committee. (The Committee is a standing Committee established by Council by By-Law);

g.) communicating and consulting with its citizens, businesses and other governments regarding the various ways of setting Leduc County’s objectives.
