Leduc County employs a dog control officer on a contract basis. The dog control officer is responsible for monitoring and investigating dog complaints from county residents, as well as enforcing action, if necessary, in accordance with the Dog Control Bylaw 22-05.
This bylaw requires dog owners to be accountable for their dogs. Dogs are not permitted to run at large, cause a nuisance or disturbances by barking, etc. There are also provisions for vicious dogs. Dog Bites If you have been bitten by a dog or your animal has been bitten by a dog, seek medical or veterinary assistance immediately and report the situation to the dog control officer as soon as possible.
