Infrastructure Management/Protection

Nisku Protocols

In order to accommodate the growing industrial field and the operation of heavy equipment within the Nisku Industrial Park, Leduc County is working together with the Government of Alberta to develop an annual permit which may be used to move loads within the park subject to certain conditions. Please watch for more information and updates as they become available.

Commercial Vehicle Weights and Dimensions

Peace officers strive to not only protect road infrastructure, but also ensure roads are safe for citizens and members of the general public. Through enforcement of specific legislation, this ensures that overweight loads are not allowed to operate on Leduc County roads without permission. Enforcement of provincial legislation by peace officers also ensures specific conditions concerning wide and long loads are met, as if these roadways do not meet the required regulations they may be hazardous to passing motorists and pedestrians.

Annual CVSA (Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance) Compliance Inspections

Peace officers participate in Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Inspections. To maintain Inspector Status, Peace officers must complete a minimum of 32 inspections per year as well as attend an Annual Recertification CVSA Refresher Course.
