Ruth Harrison
![]() A Leduc County native, Ruth Harrison brings plenty of knowledge and experience to Leduc County Council as the representative for division 6. After teaching school in the area for 16 years and familiarizing herself with the issues of residents in the area, Ruth ran for council in 1998, thinking she could do some good. Now in her third term on council, Ruth is as involved in the community as one can possibly be, sitting on numerous boards and volunteering at local organizations. In addition to volunteering as a County fire warden and at Sunnybrook Community Hall, she is also the chair of the Thorsby and District Fish and Game Association, sits on the RCMP Community Advisory Board and manages the Ashland Dam campground.
During her time on council Ruth has helped initiate the municipal addressing system, the blue-bag program and the Pigeon Lake Watershed Association. Ruth is committed to working both with and for the residents of Leduc County, and as such devotes her time and energy to ensuring all ratepayers are treated equally and respectfully.
