Clay Stumph

Clay Stumph has always been a fan of the western prairies. Growing up in a small farm town in east-central Saskatchewan, he worked in the farming and construction industries until his move to Alberta in 1978, where he found work as a train conductor for CP Rail. He continued his work with CP as a locomotive engineer until his retirement in the summer of 2010.

Clay, his wife and their two daughters found their way to Leduc County after living in Beaumont for a number of years. “It is a very prosperous and enjoyable place to live. It was an opportunity to buy a good chunk of land at a reasonable price, and we went for it,” he says.

After his retirement from the rail industry, Clay began to think about the future. Eager to stay busy and represent those around him, he ran in the October 2010 election and successfully won the vote.

In his first term as councillor for division 2, Clay has high aspirations to solve a few of the problems brought to him by his ratepayers.

Clay is excited to work for all the residents in Leduc County, and is looking forward to making things happen with the other councillors. “We have a really good team working together, and I think our Mayor Mr. Whaley will lead us in the right direction to have an open, transparent and workable council for all the residents in Leduc County.”
