Winter operations in full swing to keep County roads safe
NOV. 24 - Winter blew into Leduc County last week and crews have been busy working to ensure our roads are kept in safe driving condition. Crews worked extended shifts through the weekend to ensure our roads Leduc County roads were passable; driveway clearing began on Monday. Due to the unpredictable nature of our weather, two early-watch drivers patrol all the paved roads, identifying conditions that may require attention. They then dispatch snow removal crews as necessary to clear the roads.
While clearing of paved and gravel roads often occurs simultaneously, the road clearing priority is as follows:
1. Main roads
2. Gravel roads and subdivisions
3. Driveways
Keep in mind that driveway snow removal requests will not be done until all other roads are in acceptable driving condition, which can take anywhere from three to five days. During periods of continual snow, there may be situations where the main roads will be cleared more than once before snow removal equipment can get to subdivision roads and driveways. We will do our best to get to your driveway as soon as possible. To make a snow plow request, please visit our snowplow request page.
