Safety Codes, Permits & Inspections

Leduc County employs a team of qualified, certified safety codes officers (inspectors) in the building, electrical, plumbing and gas disciplines, as well as a permit application intake technician and administrative assistants with 300 years of combined experience in construction and inspection. In addition to being certified safety codes officers, our inspectors are journeyman carpenters, plumbers, gas fitters, sheet metal mechanics, certified private sewage system installers and master electricians. If you have construction or installation questions, we can help.
The Safety Codes team members are committed to using their extensive skills to make your permit and inspection experience as positive as possible. We understand you are making an investment in your property - perhaps the single largest investment of your life - and encourage you to ask questions before investing time and money into a project. Questions may be asked by telephone or in person at the Safety Codes desk in the Planning & Development office.
Our team is dedicated to working with you throughout your project from the planning and permit application stages to performing on-site inspections for all permits issued in order to look after your best interests.
The Leduc County Safety Codes team monitors and encourages safety to maintain or improve quality of life and supports economic viability that promotes and sustains Leduc County as a desirable place to live, work and play and as a strong community in Alberta.
