Outreach Home Support

Outreach Home Support is a light housekeeping service that clients may access on a weekly or monthly basis. This services costs $18 per hour and includes:
  • Kitchen: wipe counters, wash dishes, take out garbage, sweep and mop floors, wash inside of window above sink
  • Bathroom: clean sinks, tubs, inside/outside toilets, mirrors, mop floor and take out garbage
  • Living room/dining room: vacuum, dust, polish, tidy
  • Bedrooms: vacuum, dust, change/make beds, tidy
  • Wipe fridge, stove and microwaves
  • Spot clean walls
  • Laundry (in-home or laundromat), ironing
  • Errands (i.e. grocery shopping)
  • Meal preparation
  • Respite for caregivers
  • Family relief: temporary support to families in crisis (i.e. family illness, death in family, other emergency situations)

Subsidy Guidelines (July 2012 to June 2013):

OHS for Calmar, Devon, Thorsby and Warburg (OHS service costs $18 per hour)

Full subsidy ($18/hour) for a maximum of 5.5 hours per month. Regular subsidy ($9/hour) for additional hours to a maximum of 12 hours per month. Client must apply for subsidy from the Government of Alberta. Clients who receive SNA subsidy can access Leduc County regular subsidy ($9/hour) for additional hours to a maximum of 12 hours per month.

OHS for Leduc County and Parkland County (OHS service costs $20 per hour)

*These amounts will change annually to match thresholds set by the Government of Alberta's Special Needs Assistance for Seniors subsidy program, which are reviewed and adjusted each July.
