 Calling  9-1-1

 What happens when I call  9-1-1 ? 

All Emergency  9-1-1 calls will be received by Parkland County's Emergency Communications Centre, which was established in 1988.  The Emergency Communications Centre became a regionalized  9-1-1 centre in 1996 and is now a partner with the Parkland Ambulance Authority.  The Emergency Communications Centre offers highly skilled staff and advanced technology to over 50 municipalities. 

By providing valuable information, you can help the dispatcher and emergency crews to assess the situation.  Important information includes:

  • Where is the Emergency

  • The phone number you are calling from

  • What the emergency is

  •  Number of people involved

  • Age(s) of the people involved

  • Are they conscious / breathing?
