Fire Services

Leduc County Fire Services ensures fire and rescue services are available for all residents within Leduc County. The County employs a full-time fire chief, two deputy fire chiefs, a fleet and equipment maintenance coordinator, a coordinator of volunteer services and an administrative assistant.
Leduc County firefighters are trained to national fire protection standards 1001 (firefighter professional qualifications), 1002 (fire apparatus driver/operator professional qualifications) and 1021 (fire officer professional qualifications).
Leduc County has two firehalls: one in the Nisku Business and Industrial Park and the other in New Sarepta. Leduc County also maintains cost-sharing partnerships with the City of Leduc, Calmar, Thorsby, Warburg, Millet & the Edmonton International Airport.
A program is in place throughout Leduc County to allow open burning of brush or land clearing during summer months. 24 local residents are appointed as fire guardians to assist local fire officials by issuing fire permits. There is no charge for these permits; they do, however, enforce controls to ensure safety.
