RECREATION PROGRAMS

Leduc County offers recreational programs for children, youth, families and seniors during the summer months.  During the winter, Family Ski Nights at Rabbit Hill Ski Area are popular for families of all ages.

DAY CAMPS

Day Camps are great fun for children ages 7 – 12.  Day Camps are hosted by community halls throughout Leduc County which request to have this particular program.  This program is a great opportunity for children to expand their horizons in the area of physical activity, arts and crafts, and socializing with peers!  The Summer Leaders that facilitate these programs are great role models and provide an exciting an environment for learning and fun!  Day Camps are held for 4-5 days at each hosting Community Hall throughout the summer months.  Check the Leduc County Summer Programs Brochure to find the nearest community hall hosting a Day Camp!

MUNCHKINS:

Munchkin Camps are a great way for 4-6 year old children to get ready for Traveling Camps and Day Camps.  These younger campers just love the great crafts they create, songs they learn, and super fun games they get to play!  The Summer Leaders which facilitate the program make it a comforting environment for those little tikes that may be away from Mom and Dad for the first time. 

A Community Hall Board wishing to host one or more of the above described camps are encouraged to contact the Parks and Recreation Department more details at 955-6410.

CHILDREN AND YOUTH TRIPS

Are you bored, not much for you to do over the summer vacation months?  Well Leduc County has just the remedy to cure those summer boredom blues!  Children and Youth trips provide the opportunity for loads of fun, time to hang out with friends, and even a little education.  Every summer the program choices are endless as to how children and youth can stay active and create fun summer memories.

YOUTH GONE WILD

Youth Gone Wild is a leadership development program in Leduc County for teens ages 13 – 16 who have displayed leadership potential through their involvement in school, sport, and community groups.  Youth Gone Wild builds up these future leaders through a five-day adventure camp that teaches leadership skills and principles.  Participants will take part in exciting outdoor activities which included real rock climbing and white water rafting.

BUS TO SWIM

Leduc County and Black Gold Pool have teamed up to bring the Bus to Swim program to your community.  The program includes transportation from your local community to and from the pool, and two full weeks of daily one-hour swim lessons.  Bus to Swim is open to County residents between the ages of 6 – 17 years of age.  So, put your swim suits on and catch the bus!

SENIOR PROGRAMS     

Seniors programs are great one day journeys for the young at heart.  These trips allow seniors to enjoy traveling and site seeing with out the worries of driving or planning.  On beautiful summer days these travelers enjoy train rides back in time to the old west, hilarious dinner theaters, become enlightened by live theater, and visit fascinating tourist locations.  These seniors trips are great fun and are very popular with Leduc County residents.  Seniors plan your summer vacations by checking out the trips in the Summer Programs Brochure!

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Keep your eyes open for Leduc County summer staff as they entertain children and youth throughout the summer at a variety of summer events and fairs.  Get your face painted, make a craft of join in the games and experience the fun that is involved with Leduc County summer programs.
