Policy Statement:      

Leduc County Public Works and Engineering department shall provide eligible residents of Leduc County with subsidized dust suppression services.

 Policy Intent:

To provide dust suppression services on a fee for service basis to residents who live beside county gravel roads and to ensure that this service is delivered equitably and efficiently.

 Service Level Objectives:

Service Level Standards

1. $100.00 (plus GST) for the first 122 metres and any additional length at a cost of $3.50 per lineal metre to a maximum of 366 additional metres.  The first 122 metres of dust suppression strip shall be warranted for the year in which it is applied.  Any additional length over the first 122 metres shall not be warranted.
    

2. The policy applies to county gravelled roads adjacent to residences.
    

3. All county residents residing along a county gravelled road are eligible.  Commercial businesses are not eligible for this service on a subsidized basis.  Applications shall be made by the resident occupying the residence.  All other applicants shall not be provided with subsidized services and shall be billed for the cost of the service (at $3.50 per lineal metre).
    

4. Schools, churches, cemeteries, community centers, waste transfer stations are exempt from the cost of this service.
    

5. Dust suppression service shall be provided from May until September of each year following receipt of payment from the applicant. 

Monitoring & Updating

This Policy shall be reviewed on an annual basis.
