APPROACH GUIDELINES
THE BASICS
1. Assuming that you know where you want to construct the
Access Approach, Refer to the Leduc County Access Approach
Guidelines to ensure that the proposed Access Approach meets the
Access Approach Location Criteria.
2. Submit an Access Approach Construction Application Form to
the Leduc County, Public Works & Engineering Department at
County Center

Nisku, Alberta T9E 2X3
Or you can fax the completed form to
(780) 955-7814
3. Your application will be reviewed by Leduc County, Public
Works & Engineering personal, to determine if the proposed Access
Approach does conform to Leduc County Access Approach Guidelines.
4. Upon the completion of the application review, you will be
informed if you application has been approved. In the case that the
application has been approved, you will have one (1) year to
construct the access approach, to Leduc County Specifications, at
the approved location.
5.
In the case that your application has NOT been approved, a
letter of appeal can be presented to the Director of Public Works &
Engineering at the address mentioned above.
6.You
must inform the Public Works & Engineering department upon
completion of the access approach so we may confirm that the access
approach has been constructed to conform to the specification found
in the Leduc County Access Approach Guidelines.
REMEMBER!!!

All access
approaches MUST be constructed to Leduc County Specifications.
Please Contact the Public Works & Engineering Department for
more information.

Parcels of land
equal to or less that 10 acres (4 hectares) will be limited to
one (1) Access Approach. Parcels of land greater than 10 acres
(4 hectares) will be limited to two (2) Access Approaches.

The Stopping
Sight Distance and minimum Access Approach offsets specified in
the Access Approach Guidelines are CRUCIAL!If minimum
specifications are NOT met, your application will be revoked.

In some cases,
an access approach can be constructed dry (with out a culvert).
Please consult the Public Works & Engineering Department before
you construct your access approach.

If you are
constructing a Temporary Access Approach, be sure to make note
of this in your application as well as the duration that the
proposed Temporary Access Approach will be required.

ANY ACCESS
APPROACH NOT APPROVED BY LEDUC
COUNTY,
PUBLIC WORKS & ENGINEERING WILL BE REMOVED AT THE EXPENSE OF THE
REGISTERED LANDOWNER.
