Fire restriction issued for Leduc County

Fire restriction

Fire restriction

UPDATE: This fire restriction was lifted at noon on June 7, 2019.

Original post:

As a result of dry conditions, high winds and no relief in the forecast, Leduc County is now under a fire restriction.

All outdoor fires currently burning must be extinguished immediately and all fire permits are suspended; no fire permits will be issued for the duration of the restriction, as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act.

It is best to postpone burning in approved burn barrels or fire pits until a significant amount of moisture is received; individuals must use extreme caution if they choose to burn in this manner.

Leduc County’s fire officials will continue to monitor the situation, and will update the public when conditions improve. For further updates, please visit leduc-county.com/fire-bans or albertafirebans.ca.
