UPDATE: restriction on non-essential water use in New Sarepta suspended

Friday, May 26 at 5:05 p.m.

The water restriction issued earlier today for New Sarepta has now been suspended and the New Sarepta Bulk Water Outlet has been reopened. We thank all residents for their cooperation as the Capital Region Southwest Water Services Commission worked to repair the transmission line servicing the community.

Effective Friday, May 26 at 8 a.m., New Sarepta residents are urged to suspend all non-essential water use due to a water main break in the line that services the community.

The Capital Region Southwest Water Services Commission (CRSWSC), which supplies water to Leduc County and other municipalities in the region, issued the water restriction for the duration of repairs; it is not yet known how long it will take for repairs to be completed.

At this time, no other areas of Leduc County are being impacted by this water main break.

Examples of non-essential water use include, but aren't limited to, the following activities: watering lawns, washing vehicles or machinery, filling pools or hot tubs, running partial loads of dishes or laundry, and irrigation.

The New Sarepta Bulk Water Outlet will be closed for the duration of the restriction; however, the Nisku Bulk Water Outlet located at 1402 7 St. in Nisku will remain open.

Updates will be posted to the Leduc County website when available.
