Phase one of Warburg Arena upgrades underway
Construction has officially started on phase one of the Warburg Arena upgrades, thanks to a strong partnership between Leduc County, the Village of Warburg and the Warburg Arena Board.
“Leduc County has an incredibly successful history of recreation partnership with the Village of Warburg. Recreation lives in the heart of our communities, and Leduc County council recognizes the importance of working together for the benefit of our residents, both in Leduc County and in the Village of Warburg.”
Leduc County Mayor Tanni Doblanko
“We are excited to get phase one of our arena upgrades underway. Having high-quality recreational infrastructure is important to us and to our residents; thank you to our partners at Leduc County and to the provincial government as well for helping to fund this upgrade.”
Village of Warburg Mayor Kevin Maine
The $2.4 million upgrade, funded through a partnership agreement between Leduc County, the Village of Warburg and provincial grant funding, will bring a larger, improved dressing room area to the arena and will improve access to the ice surface.
The Warburg Arena Board has many dedicated volunteers who help to provide a safe and high quality establishment for the community. These upgrades will carry on the efforts of the volunteers and will increase community capacity for various recreational events held at the arena.
