Regional fire crews work together to battle large industrial fire in Nisku

At approximately 10 p.m. on Sept. 5, a large outdoor industrial fire broke out in the Nisku Business Park.

Upon arrival, Leduc County fire crews determined the fire involved a large area of stored pressurized containers ready for recycling and a variety of chemicals and used oil products.

Our crews, including more than 40 firefighters from the Nisku and Calmar fire districts, EIA and City of Leduc fire department, worked incredibly hard to get the fire under control. The incident went smoothly and there are no injuries reported at this time.

Leduc County Deputy Fire Chief Tylor Bennett

Until the investigation is complete, 9 Street, between 15 Avenue and 16 Avenue in Nisku, will remain closed.
