Nisku Bulk Water Station construction delays
In May, Leduc County began work on a major upgrade at the Nisku bulk water station, which is located at 1402 7 Street in Nisku. The upgrade will include a new station, heated concrete pads, lighting and drains.
Construction of the upgrades was scheduled to be complete in August; however, due to the amount of rain we have received this season, the project length has been extended. The new estimated completion date of the upgrades is now October 2019.
The alternative stations in Nisku and New Sarepta remain open for haulers to receive water. All three stations require customers to connect to a two or three-inch male cam lock with their hose. There are no overhead fill options at these stations.
Once complete, the west bay of the upgraded station will have an overhead fill option and a two-inch male cam lock connection on the side of the building. The east bay will have a two-inch and three-inch male cam lock connection on the side of the building.
Locations of alternative Leduc County bulk water stations:
- East end of 37 Avenue east of Spine Road, Nisku: two-inch and three-inch cam lock connections; no overhead; account access.
- East end of 9 Avenue east of 9 Street, Nisku: two-inch and three-inch cam lock connections; account access; credit card terminal.
- 4991 Centre Avenue, New Sarepta: two-inch cam lock connection; lower flow rate than the Nisku stations; account access; credit card terminal.
