Notice of public hearing: amend Land Use Bylaw 07-08 (LA19-007)

Leduc County has received an application to amend the Land Use Bylaw 7-08. The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to redistrict 15.691 ha± (38.77 ac±) parcel of land located in Lot 1, Block 2, Plan 1124833 from the Direct Control (DC) District to the Industrial (IND) District.

The purpose of the proposed amendment is to permit the existing structures and use of the property. In addition a provision added under Industrial District, Other Regulations to prohibit on Lot 1, Block 2, Plan 1124833 uses that are not compatible with the character of the plan area such as; abattoirs, frame and fabric structures, heavy industrial developments, outdoor storage not associated with a principal use and pipe yards, wrecking and salvage yards.

A public hearing on the proposed amendment will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the council chamber of County Centre, at which time written and oral submissions can be presented to council. Submissions may be made by any person whom council agrees to hear.

Any written submissions mailed to Leduc County, 101-1101 5 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 2X3, emailed to development@leduc-county.com, or faxed to 780-955-8866 referencing application LA19-007 by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2019, will be included on the council agenda. Written and oral submissions may be made at the council meeting without prior notification to Leduc County.

Copies of the proposed amending bylaw and any supporting information may be inspected at the Planning and Development offices in County Centre between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, or on the Leduc County website here.
