Notice of public hearing: amend Land Use Bylaw 07-08 (TA19-004)

Leduc County has received an application to amend Land Use Bylaw 07-08. The purpose of the amendment is to allow for the kennel use on a discretionary basis in the Agricultural/Country Residential Transitional District. In addition, the applicant proposes to allow the consideration of a kennel within 400 meters of a multi-lot residential subdivision, and to allow a kennel to be sited in the front yard of the property legally described as Lot 2, Block 1, Plan 0722814, forming part of SE 27-50-22-W4.

According to Part 11 of the Land Use Bylaw, a kennel means a facility used primarily for the breeding, boarding, caring or training of dogs and may include other small animal breeding and boarding services.

A public hearing on the proposed amendment will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2:15 p.m. in the council chamber of County Centre, at which time written and oral submissions can be presented to council. Submissions may be made by any person whom council agrees to hear.

Any written submissions mailed to Leduc County, 101-1101 5 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 2X3, emailed to, or faxed to 780-955-8866 referencing application TA19-004 by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, will be included on the council agenda. Written and oral submissions may be made at the council meeting without prior notification to Leduc County.

Copies of the proposed amending bylaw and any supporting information may be inspected at the Planning and Development offices in County Centre between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, or on the Leduc County website.
