Notice of public hearing: proposed bylaw to amend the Land Use Bylaw 7-08

The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to amend the Leduc County Land Use Bylaw to add “wedding and event facility” as a discretionary use under Section 9.1.3 of the AG - Agricultural District. This type of facility will allow for weddings, banquets, catering and private functions to take place.

The proposed bylaw is to amend Section 11 of the Land Use Bylaw to provide clarity regarding the use of the wedding and event facility.

Part Eleven - Definitions:

  1. Insert into Section 11: wedding and event facility means an indoor facility that provides primarily for the use of weddings but may include (but is not limited to) meetings, seminars, conventions, sales, trade fairs, exhibits, shows, theater productions and concerts.

A public hearing concerning the amendment will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at 2 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, in the council chamber of County Centre, at which time written and oral submissions can be presented to council. Submissions may be made by any person(s) who claim to be affected by the proposed amendment or from any other person whom council agrees to hear.

Any written submissions that are mailed or delivered to Leduc County, 101, 1101-5 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 2X3 or faxed to 780-955-8866 by 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018, will be included on the council agenda. Written and oral submissions may be made at the council meeting, without prior notification to Leduc County.

If you make a written submission, the information you provide may be made public, subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Copies of the proposed amending bylaw and any supporting information may be inspected at the Planning and Development offices in County Centre between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
