Planning and development
Planning and Development provides services related to land use planning and development within the county. We are responsible for development and subdivision, creating and interpreting long-term planning policies, regional and intermunicipal planning initiatives, issuing safety codes permits and conducting inspections.
Development Services regulates land use, administers development permits and subdivision of land.
Subdivision is the process of dividing a parcel of land into any number of smaller pieces with separate legal land titles.
Work on building, electrical, plumbing, gas or private sewage installation projects requires a safety codes permit.
Regional and Long Range Planning works proactively to respond to future growth and development needs in collaboration with regional partners.
