Leduc County is preparing the Southern Country Residential Area Structure Plan (SCRASP) to provide the framework for the long-term growth and development of the area for future planning.
Within Leduc County, there has been an increased interest related to county residential development. To accommodate this interest, while balancing the impact on existing residential development, municipal infrastructure and environmental features, Leduc County is taking a proactive step of guiding development by creating the Southern Country Residential Area Structure Plan. The SCRASP will then provide direction for the creation of outline plans, which will provide more detailed development policies.
The Southern Country Residential Area Structure Plan is located in the eastern portion of Leduc County, approximately five minutes northwest of New Sarepta and 20 minutes east of the City of Leduc. The majority of land within the plan area is used for agricultural purposes or contains wetland and/or forestry stands. There are some existing country residential subdivisions, and as shown in the plan above, are largely disjointed from one-another.

In early November, a virtual event was held to explain the project further and gather community feedback to inform the Southern Country Residential Area Structure Plan.
The session was recorded for those who have interest in the project but were not able to attend.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and virtual engagement session. Community input is now being compiled and will be responded to in a report that will be made public and presented to council as a part of the formal adoption process.
