Council proclamations
Leduc County Council recognizes initiatives of local significance that have a positive impact in the community.
Charitable and non-profit organizations, or their representatives or supporters, are invited to request that council recognize a specific day, week or month in the form of an official proclamation. Proclamations will be read aloud in public council meetings and shared online.
2024 proclamations
- National Day of Mourning: April 28
- Mental Health Week: First full week of May
- Safety and Health Week: First full week of May
- Economic Development Week: May 6 to 10
- National Public Works Week: May 19 to 25
- Rail Safety Week: Sept. 23 to 29
- Fire Prevention Week: Oct. 6 to 12
Request a council proclamation
Charitable and non-profit organizations, or their representatives or supporters, are invited to request that a specific day, week or month be recognized by council in the form of a proclamation. Initiatives must have local significance and be of interest to the community.
Applicants of declared proclamations will receive a copy of the official proclamation. The proclamation will be read aloud in open council and posted on the proclamations webpage.
To request a proclamation, please complete the below-linked form at least four weeks in advance of the date being requested. Proclamations only apply to the year for which it's requested. Applicants may re-apply for a declaration for the same date every year.
