Leduc County recognizes that an engaged public and effective public participation can improve the quality of municipal decision making. Our public participation framework provides an overview of public participation at Leduc County and establishes the foundation for effective and meaningful public participation processes.
Your Say Leduc County provides a space for County citizens to give their input on projects and share ideas for the future. The website features integrated tools strategically selected for each project. These tools include surveys, forums, polls, idea walls, mapping tools, question-and-answer modules and more.

PAST PROJECTS
These projects are completed and closed for public input.
Our Business Retention and Expansion Survey gathered input on the future plans and needs of local businesses, as well as how business owners and operators view the community as a place to do business.
Leduc County gathered feedback on implementing a business licensing program for all businesses in the Nisku Business Park and on EIA land.
We conducted our first-ever Citizen Satisfaction Survey to get feedback from residential citizens on the municipal services we provide. Results were shared on May 25, 2021.
Our second Citizen Satisfaction Survey took place in the summer of 2023.
A public hearing for the proposed Community Standards Bylaw was held May 11, 2021. The proposed bylaw was defeated by council.
This plan was previously titled as the Greater Nisku Major Area Structure Plan.
Council adopted the Nisku MEC ASP on Sept. 28, 2021.
A public hearing for the proposed Alternate Advertising Bylaw was held on March 8, 2022. The proposed bylaw was adopted by Council.
A public hearing to repeal the North Major ASP and amend the East Vistas LASP was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. The amendment and appeal were approved by Council.
A public hearing to amend the QEII Local Area Structure Plan was held on Feb. 22, 2022. The amendment was approved by Council.
A public hearing to close and sell a portion of undeveloped road allowance was held on Feb. 8, 2022. Council did not provide first reading to the proposed bylaw.
A public hearing on a proposed road allowance was held on Sept. 14, 2021. Council provided first reading to the bylaw.
A public hearing to close and sell a portion of undeveloped road allowance at Township Road 480 east of Highway 795 was held on March 22, 2022. Council provided first reading to the bylaw.
A public hearing for Land Use Bylaw amendment LA21-001 was held on March 9, 2021.The proposed amendment was defeated by council.
A public hearing for proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment LA21-002 was held on July 13, 2021. The proposed bylaw was defeated by council.
A public hearing for proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment LA21-003 was held on Nov. 9, 2021. The amendment was approved by council.
A public hearing on proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment LA21-004 was held on March 22, 2022. The amendment was approved by Council.
A public hearing for proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment LA21-005 was held on April 12, 2022. Council chose to provide first and second reading to the bylaw.

A public hearing for proposed Land Use Bylaw amendment LA22-003 was held on Sept. 27, 2022. The proposed amendment was defeated by Council.
A public hearing on the proposed amendment will be held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1:45 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible. Written or oral submissions can be made by any person who claims to be affected, or by any other person the Council agrees to hear from.
A public hearing on the proposed bylaw to repeal the City of Leduc/Leduc County IDP will be held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec.13, 2022 at 2 p.m.
A public hearing was held on Dec. 13, 2022 to consider bylaws to repeal the Leduc County/County of Wetaskiwin IDP and amend the intermunicipal collaboration framework between the two parties. Council approved both proposed bylaws.
A public hearing was held on Dec. 14, 2021 to rescind the Camrose County/Leduc County IDP. The IDP was rescinded by Council.
A public hearing to rescind the plan will be held on Sept. 14, 2021. Council chose to not proceed with second reading on the proposed bylaw.
A public hearing for a Land Use Bylaw amendment concerning soil movement, stockpiling and grading was held on April 27, 2021. The amendment was approved by council.

between Leduc County and the Town of Calmar was held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, June 13, at 2 p.m.
A public hearing on the proposed bylaw to repeal and replace the Leduc County/Town of Thorsby IDP and the proposed bylaw to repeal the ICF between Leduc County and the Town of Thorsby was held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, June 13, at 1:45 p.m.
A non-statutory public hearing for the proposed The Ridge at Wizard Lake Outline Plan was held on May 11, 2021. The proposed outline plan was defeated by council.
A public hearing on the proposed bylaw to adopt the updated Leduc County/Village of Warburg IDP and the proposed bylaw to repeal the ICF between Leduc County and Village of Warburg was held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 1:45 p.m.
Help set priorities for Leduc RCMP. The two-minute survey helped ensure Leduc RCMP's priorities align with those of area residents. The survey was open until Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 11:45 p.m.
We gathered input from residents and landowners about land use for rural wedding and agricultural event facilities.
Council adopted the Southern Country Residential ASP on March 14, 2023.
In summer 2020, Leduc County conducted a Solid Waste Strategic Plan Survey to learn about residents' waste and recycling priorities.
In spring and summer 2022, Leduc County Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is collected input on transportation - specifically transportation barriers - in rural Leduc County, New Sarepta, Calmar, Thorsby and Warburg. Survey results will be shared in fall 2022.
An update to the Town of Devon and Leduc County IDP was given third reading by Leduc County Council on June 22, 2021.
In September 2022, we surveyed the community to learn how people get around the County and what people's priorities for future transit service are.
Leduc County recognizes and appreciates the value Yardley Jones Park brings to New Sarepta. In 2023, we are updating our vision for the park to make sure it continues to bring value to the community into the future. An online survey was open from May 1 to June 2 to collect feedback on Yardley Jones Park.
The Transportation Master Plan (TMP) was adopted by Council on May 14, 2024.
