Leduc County is proud to provide a variety of parks and recreation opportunities to our residents. We offer recreation programs throughout the year, partner with local halls and societies on community-led events and maintain a number of parks, campgrounds and open spaces for residents to use and enjoy.
We value the benefits that recreation opportunities, parks and cultural activities provide to our residents – they are important components in creating a physically, socially and emotionally healthy community.
Throughout 2022, we provided the opportunity for residents to get involved in our updated Recreation and Parks Master Plan to help us understand the current and future needs for parks and recreation services.
Leduc County knows that an engaged public and effective public participation process improves the quality of the decisions we make, so we have now launched Your Say Leduc County. The Recreation and Parks Master Plan has now moved to our new engagement website.

We provide a variety of parks and recreation services to support recreation and community development in Leduc County.
Recreation and library cost-sharing agreements |
We maintain cost-sharing agreements with five municipalities:
Our cost-sharing agreements allow our residents to access quality recreation services, while reducing the recreation costs each municipality is required to pay. Services funded through the cost-share agreements include arenas, pools, athletic fields, recreation programs and libraries. Leduc County is divided into seven recreation districts; cost-share contributions are based on the number Leduc County residents in each district. |
Campgrounds |
We have two campgrounds and two group campgrounds in Leduc County. Campgrounds
Jubilee Park Campground also hosts a beach and day-use area that is accessed by thousands of people from across the region each season. Group campgrounds

Parks and day-use areas |
We have six day-use parks in Leduc County, located in New Sarepta, East Vistas, Centennial Park, Sunnybrook, Mission Beach and Genesee Heritage Park. We are also home to many other parks and reserve areas. Each year, we maintain 16 separate sites. These sites include parks, playgrounds, campgrounds and Leduc County facilities (fire halls, public works shops and County buildings). |
Parks planning |
We participate in parks planning, including policy development, strategic direction, and support to the Planning and Development department in effective and sustainable park development. We provide support and assistance to the dedication of municipal reserve lands, local area structure plans and future planning documents that impact parks and recreation. As well, we provide parks planning assistance to not-for-profit associations and neighbouring communities where projects provide a benefit to Leduc County residents. |
Community development |
We host a variety of community programs throughout the year. Examples include farm-to-table dinners at community halls, Halloween events, winter festivals and harvest dinners. These family-friendly events draw hundreds of participants from across the region. We also plan annual registered summer programs for children and adults. These registered programs include a variety of day camps, outdoor concerts and community events, such as drive in movies. Additionally, we provide assistance to more than 50 community and not-for-profit groups each year. We help with grant application writing, policy development and facility management support.
