Always call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is responsible for ground ambulance services in Alberta. Ground ambulance services are available 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

In emergency situations, emergency medical services (EMS) crews assess and treat injured and/or sick people. If further treatment is needed, crews take people to an appropriate health care facility.

EMS crews can also arrange for air ambulance services in emergency situations. You cannot arrange for provincial air ambulance services on your own.
