Dust control

Apply for dust control services

If you live beside a gravel road in Leduc County, you are eligible for dust control services. There are two different types of dust control products available - calcium chloride and incorporated petroleum.

Two applications of product will be completed for every residence applying for this dust control product. The second application will be automatically applied approximately six-to-eight weeks after the first application (weather permitting).
  • Residents desiring a calcium chloride dust control product on the County road adjacent to their residence are required to complete an application form and must prepay a fee of $436.00 for the first 122 metres (400 feet). Dust control requested beyond 122 metres (400 feet) will be charged an additional $8.93/metre.

Other information

  • GST will be added to all of the above-listed prices.
  • The prices listed are after receiving a Leduc County subsidy of $654.00 per strip.
  • This subsidy is provided to County residents living in permanent residences along a County gravel road.
  • Businesses will be charged the full rate without subsidy.
  • The dust control program begins as soon as possible after seasonal road bans have been lifted.

Application deadline

Applications for the 2023 dust control program open on April 1. They will be accepted until May 15.

You can apply for dust control services each spring. Please note this is not a year-round service; the application deadline for dust control services is May 15.

Fees

Review the dust control policy for full details about the fees and eligibility criteria.
