Gravel roads generate dust when vehicles drive along the roadway. Help reduce the amount of dust in the air by applying for dust suppression services.
If you live beside a gravel road, you are eligible for dust suppression services.
There are two different types of dust suppression available in Leduc County. Complete the appropriate dust suppression application form:

You can apply for dust suppression services each spring. Please note this is not a year-round service; the application deadline for dust suppression services is May 15.

Calcium chloride dust suppression |
Calcium chloride dust suppression service costs $374.50 (plus GST) for the first 122 m. Leduc County will provide a subsidy of $695.50 for this service. If you request dust suppression for a strip of road longer than 122 m, it will cost $8.77 per metre, plus GST. |
Incorporated DL10 dust suppression |
Incorporated DL10 dust suppression service costs $2,934.50 (plus GST) for the first 122 m. Leduc County will provide a subsidy of $695.50 for this service. If you request dust suppression for a strip of road longer than 122 m, it will cost $29.75 per metre, plus GST. |
To qualify for a dust suppression subsidy, you must have a residential property alongside a gravel road. Commercial businesses are not eligible for the subsidy. Schools, churches, cemeteries, community centres, agricultural societies and waste transfer stations are exempt from the cost of this service.
