Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) can develop in children if a mother drinks alcohol during pregnancy. The impact of FASD varies between individuals, but it can cause lifelong challenges. If you, or someone you know, is impacted by FASD, Leduc County has programs, resources and support available.

Bridges FASD Mentor Program

The Bridges FASD Mentor Program provides support to help adults who have been diagnosed with FASD or have strong indicators of FASD. If you or someone you know is interested, send us an email or give us a call at 780-979-2385.

The Bridges FASD Mentor Program is free.

Eligibility

To participate in this program, you need to be a resident of:

Leduc County
City of Beaumont
Town of Calmar
Town of Devon
Town of Thorsby
Village of Warburg
City of Leduc

Program details

Our mentors will help you gain independence and live up to your full potential by:

meeting with you at least once a week
teaching and modelling appropriate routines
helping you establish a safe and supportive living environment
connecting you to appropriate resources

Funding for the Bridges FASD Mentor Programs is provided by the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Cross-Ministry Committee (FASD-CMC) of the Province of Alberta.
