Recreation and sport grants
Recreation and sport grants are awarded to local recreation, athletic or cultural groups to help your organization fund a community program or project. These grants are available for groups that serve the New Sarepta, Calmar, Thorsby and Warburg region.

Eligibility

Projects granted with funding must meet the following criteria:
- In the event a group has received funding from the regional recreation board in the past, a satisfactory final report must have been submitted within the current calendar year. All previous reports must have been submitted in a timely manner.
- The group must submit a satisfactory and complete application form by deadlines outlined by the regional recreation board.
- The project must provide recreational and/or athletic and/or cultural benefits to the community. Projects that have the broadest benefits will be given priority.
- The project must be accessible to the community.
- The group must show project financial viability.
Eligible groups and projects include, but are not limited to:
- recreation, athletic and cultural clubs
- community hall groups
- community events
Ineligible activities/projects
- projects currently funded through the school board
- clubs/groups/organizations that are not open to the general public for participation
- facilities and programs already funded through recreation cost-share agreements between Leduc County and New Sarepta, the Village of Warburg, Towns of Thorsby, Calmar, Devon and Beaumont and the City of Leduc
- municipal projects

Assessment criteria

Community groups receiving funds from a regional recreation board must:
- Demonstrate they meet the above-listed criteria by completing an application form.
- Spend and report on funds (to the regional recreation board) within the current calendar year.

Arts and culture grant
Leduc County offers annual funding opportunities to groups and organizations that encourage the development of arts and culture-related events and programs. We provide the opportunity for low cost, sustainable programs and events that benefit residents in Leduc County.

You can apply for either an operating assistance grant or a special event/program grant. The maximum grant amount is:
- $250 per year for operation assistance grants
- $1,500 per year for special project/event grants
All funds received must be spent in the year they are awarded.

Eligibility
|
Your organization must meet the following criteria to be eligible for funding:
- be a registered charitable or not-for-profit organization
- the program or event must be publically advertised and available to residents of Leduc County
- the program or event must take place in Leduc County
- you must provide budget information for the program or even with your application
If your organization or group is not in good standing with Leduc County, you may be ineligible for funding.

- visual arts
- media arts
- performing arts
- literary arts
- multicultural and heritage arts
- educational arts
Ineligible activities/projects
- direct grants to support individuals
- municipalities
- for-profit organizations
- fundraising or administrative costs
- travel costs
- retroactive program or event costs
- programs or facilities that already receive funding from Leduc County
- religious organizations (unless they are engaged in a project that benefits the entire community)
- wages

Assessment criteria
|
The Leduc County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will review all eligible applications. We will use the following criteria to review eligible applications:
- the program or event is of community value and encourages the development of arts, culture and/or heritage to a large group of citizens
- new or expanded opportunities for residents to participate in programs and/or services
- contribution to quality of life, community engagement and community development to Leduc County residents
- operating assistance priority will be given to new initiatives or groups
- viability and sustainability or the initiatives
- organizational competence
