Leduc County has a number of regulations in place to help preserve road infrastructure and safety. These regulations include road-use agreements, commercial vehicle road bans and overweight permits for transporting heavy loads and service rig moves. We also issue fleet tri-drive permits and steering annual permits.
If you are the driver of a commercial or farm vehicle, you are responsible for knowing the maximum allowable weight on Leduc County's roads. If you need to transport a load that is above the maximum allowable weight on a road, you are required to get an overweight permit
To apply for an overweight permit in Leduc County, contact RoaData Services.
Before you apply for a local permit, you need to get a provincial permit. Review the Province of Alberta oversize and overweight vehicle permit information.
Approval fees range in price and will be charged for each permit issued, with the exception of those issued for the Nisku Business Park.
If you are an agricultural producer planning to haul grain or other cereal crops, and your load exceeds allowable weights, you need to get a permit. You may be eligible for a free road ban exemption permit, which allows you to haul during road ban season.
