Leduc County believes the City of Leduc/Leduc County Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) is an effective tool to manage growth and address planning matters and issues of municipal interest. However, members of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board are not mandated under the Municipal Government Act (MGA) to have an IDP. Further, the City of Leduc repealed the City of Leduc/Leduc County IDP on Aug. 22, 2022, rendering the City of Leduc/Leduc County IDP inoperative and ineffective. For this reason, Leduc County is proposing to repeal Bylaw 30-11 known as the City of Leduc/Leduc County Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP).
Details of the proposed bylaw can be found by clicking the button below.
Information can also be requested by contacting Laurie Johnson, Senior Planner, Regional Planning at 780-955-6405 or laurie@leduc-county.com.
A public hearing on the proposed bylaw to repeal the City of Leduc/Leduc County IDP will be held at the Leduc County regular Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec.13, 2022 at 2 p.m. Written or oral submissions can be made by any person who claims to be affected, or from any other person council agrees to hear from.
