Range Road 24 wildfire

Saturday, May 6 - 9 a.m.

The wildfire is now extinguished and crews will no longer be on scene.

Thursday, May 4 - 9 a.m.

The wildfire is under control and fire crews remain on scene to monitor fire breaks.

The evacuation has been lifted; evacuated residents have been notified that they may return to their homes.

Range Road 24 is now open - no road closures are in place.

Wednesday, May 3 - 9:30 p.m.

The wildfire remains contained and fire crews will remain on scene overnight.  

The evacuation has been reduced from eight homes to five homes. Impacted residents have been contacted and provided with further instructions.

Range Road 25 is now open. Range Road 24 remains closed between Township Road 474 and Highway 616.

Avoid the area and follow the instructions of emergency personnel.

Another update will be provided tomorrow morning (May 4).

Wednesday, May 3 - 4 p.m.

The wildfire remains contained; however, high temperatures and winds are creating flare ups that require attention.  

The evacuation of the area remains in effect. The evacuation order will be re-evaluated at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.

Range roads 24 and 25 remain closed between township roads 474 and 475.

Avoid the area and follow the instructions of emergency personnel.

Another update will be provided at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3.

Wednesday, May 3 - 9:45 a.m.

Crews have contained the wildfire and continue to work on flare ups and monitor hot spots.

High temperatures and winds are expected today, which may cause conditions to deteriorate quickly.  

The evacuation of the area remains in effect. 

Range roads 24 and 25 are still closed between township roads 474 and 475. Continue to avoid the area and follow instructions of emergency personnel.

Another update will be provided this afternoon.

Tuesday, May 2 - 9 p.m.

Crews have made good progress on the wildfire. A fire watch is in place, and crews will continue to work overnight.

The evacuation of the area is still in effect.

Range roads 24 and 25 are still closed between township roads 474 and 475. Avoid the area and follow the instructions of emergency personnel.

Tuesday, May 2 - 4:15 p.m.

This alert is in effect for everyone located on Range Road 24 between Township Road 474 and Township Road 475.

There is a wildfire on Range Road 24 between township roads 474 and 475. North west winds are pushing the fire towards a small group of homes in the area. Everyone in this area must evacuate now. Take your pets, important documents and enough medication, food and water to be away from your home for 3 days.

Once you have evacuated to a safe location, phone 780-955-4546 to register with the County. If you need help evacuating call 780-955-4546. Range roads 24 and 25 are closed between township roads 474 and 475. Please avoid the area and follow the instructions of emergency personnel.
