What can I burn?

A fire permit allows holders to burn yard waste (weeds, leaves, tree prunings, brush, fallen trees) and wood or wood products that do not contain preservatives (untreated pallets, wood crates, etc.).

Who is eligible to apply online for a fire permit?

Only individuals - over the age of 18 - who reside in rural Leduc County (not in a rural subdivision) and businesses in the Nisku Business Park can apply online for a fire permit.

What happens after I receive my online fire permit?

Permit holders must abide by the terms and conditions noted on their permit and all additional conditions as outlined in Burning Bylaw 13-22.

Requirements include monitoring weather conditions, calling prior to each burn to ensure no fire restrictions or bans are in effect and ensuring the burn is controlled at all times.
