Leduc County is conducting a survey to better understand the future plans and needs of local businesses, and how business owners and operators view the community as a place to do business.
The information from the Business Retention and Expansion Survey, which runs from Aug. 12 to Sept. 9, will be used to inform the development of a business retention and expansion program. This program will support the needs of existing businesses by helping them grow, attract investment and improve operations.
The County hopes the results of the outreach highlight the challenges and opportunities local businesses are facing, and has retained Deloitte Canada, a respected consulting firm, to assist with the project.
Businesses in Leduc County, in the towns of Calmar and Thorsby and in the Village of Warburg will each receive a letter from the County containing a unique web address to participate online. Businesses should also be aware that selection for the phone survey is random, and they may be contacted by phone between Aug.12 and Sept. 9.
The survey should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete.
"By gathering input from local businesses, we can make decisions and plan future economic development programming based on the priorities of the business community. We want to help the businesses who have chosen Leduc County as their home to expand their networks, grow their businesses and attract investment."
- Mayor Tanni Doblanko
The project is scheduled to conclude in November, when the results of the survey will be presented to Leduc County Council and shared with the public.
