As of May 6, 2025, Leduc County is currently in fire ban. Learn more.
Leduc County is now under a fire restriction as of 10 a.m., May 2, 2025. There is an increased risk of wildfire due to dry conditions and high winds.
No open fires, smudge fires or fires contained to burn barrels are allowed, and any of these fires burning when the restriction is issued must be extinguished immediately. The discharge of fireworks is not allowed.
All fire permits are suspended, as per the Forest and Prairie Protection Act, and no new fire permits will be issued for the duration of this restriction.
Residents may have a recreational fire in a firepit fueled by dry wood, a campfire at a campsite, use gas/propane appliances such as barbecues, heaters, and firepits, and use solid-fuel (charcoal and pellets) appliances.
To learn more about what fire pits are are permitted for use, please visit the Controlled Burning section.
Fire officials will continue to monitor conditions, and will update the public at leduc-county.com and albertafirebans.ca when the restriction is lifted or downgraded, or a ban is issued.
