It's that time again! The We ❤️local art contest starts Monday, April 14 for local artists to submit their work!
A total of 24 winning pieces will be featured in an art display at our Leduc County Days events, which take place on June 19 and August 14 and celebrate the Leduc County community.
How the contest works
- We are seeking art submissions from local artists from April 14 to May 18, 2025.
- We are accepting submissions from citizens who live in the following municipalities:
- Leduc County
- New Sarepta
- City of Beaumont
- Town of Calmar
- Town of Devon
- City of Leduc
- Town of Thorsby
- Village of Warburg
- Artists must submit a photograph of their art for this contest through an online form (see below). Original pieces must be ready for display by June 16, 2025.
- From May 23 to June 8, 2025, we will share the art we received and ask the public to vote for their favourite pieces through an online voting platform.
- The top three that received the most votes in each category for adults and youth will be announced as the winners.
- We will showcase a total of 24 pieces at each Leduc County Days event taking place on June 19 and August 14, 2025.
- Once the events are complete, art will be returned to the winning artists.

- 12 to 18*
- adults older than 18
Art categories
- Drawing - any type of drawing made with pencil, charcoal, ink, pastels, and more.
- Painting - all types of painting medium
- Digital - all photography, as well as digitally created or altered artworks.
- Miscellaneous - stained glass, metalwork, sculptures, crochet, pottery, diamond dots, needle felting and more.
*Please note if you are a youth participant aged 12 to 18 you must have a parent/guardian sign your entry form.

Contest rules
- Each artist can submit one piece of original art per medium into our We ♥ local art contest.
- Artists must submit a picture of their art using the online form by May 18, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- By submitting a picture of their art, all artists agree that the picture will be shared with the public to be voted on through an online voting platform.
- By participating in this contest, winning artists agree to have their piece on display at upcoming Leduc County Days events, which take place on June 19 at the Sunnybrook Community Hall and August 14 at the New Sarepta Agriplex.
- Winners will be responsible for dropping their pieces off at the Leduc County Parks and Recreation office by June 16.
