Katie Dringenberg in her last will and testament bequest to give Leduc County the sum of $20,000 for a scholarship fund for a student who attains his or her high school diploma from a school in the west end of the county and who continues further education in the field of medicine.
Amount: The amount of the scholarship shall be determined by the interest accumulated on the scholarship donated during the preceding year. This amount may vary from year to year depending on the interest rate which the fund had been invested at. Only one award will be made per year.
Eligibility: Applicants must have graduated from a high school in the western portion of the county including Calmar High School, Thorsby High School or Warburg High School. They must have a declared major in the field of medicine, including but not limited to nursing, dentistry, pharmacy or veterinary medicine. Financial need will be considered in the awarding of the scholarship; applicants must not have been previously awarded this scholarship
Application: A personal letter of application for this scholarship must be sent to Leduc County. The letter of application must provide personal details, a transcript of grade 12 marks, proof of registration to a post-secondary education program and any other information the applicant believes to be relevant.
