On Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., you will vote for a Leduc County councillor and local school board trustees.

Advance voting: Saturday, Oct. 4 and Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025.Â
Municipal election
Election day is Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Leduc County is divided into seven electoral divisions. On election day, voters will elect a councillor based on their division to serve as a member of Council for a four-year term (October 2025 to October 2029).
NEW for the 2025 election, Leduc County is offering residents an additional opportunity to vote through special ballots.
Eligible voters may vote by special ballot by completing and submitting Form 22 - Request for Special Ballot Package.
This method of voting is offered for eligible voters who:
- may have a physical disability that impedes their ability to attend a voting station;
- are absent from the local jurisdiction where they reside; or
- are an elections officer, candidate, official agent or scrutineer who is at a voting station other than that for the elector’s place of residence.
Special ballot packages will be provided to eligible voters who meet all the requirements of sections 77.1 and 77.2 of the Local Authorities Election Act.
Special ballots must be received on or before 8 p.m. on Oct. 20, 2025.
Submitting special ballots
Applications may be submitted in person, by email or regular mail to Leduc County's returning officer.Â
Ballots may be submitted:
- in person to the returning officer at County Centre prior to Oct. 20 during regular business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m.);
- sent via courier; or
- mailed to the attention of the returning officer at:

Leduc County residents are eligible to vote in the 2025 municipal election if they:
- are 18 years old
- are a Canadian citizen
- reside in Alberta and the primary place of residence is located in Leduc County on the day they vote
Leduc County is partnering with Elections Alberta to compile a permanent electors register for the municipality.Â
Leduc County encourages all eligible voters to register with Voterlink prior to Sept 15, 2025. You can register as follows:
- online at voterlink.ab.ca
- by calling toll-free 310-0000 then dialing 780-427-7191Â
If your name is not on the permanent electors register, you will be required to complete a Form 13 – Elector Register and have a valid, government-issued identification and proof of residence, such as a tax/assessment notice, utility bill or document with your home/legal address, before you are given a ballot.
As per section 48 of the Local Authorities Election Act,you can only vote in one jurisdiction, even if you have more than one residence.
A student who attends an educational institution within or outside of Alberta, temporarily rents accommodation for the purpose of attending an educational institution, and has family members who reside in Alberta and with whom the student ordinarily lives with when not attending an educational institution is deemed to reside with those family members. They would vote where those family members would vote.
On Monday, Oct. 20, 2025, you can only vote at the voting station(s) assigned to your division. Learn more in Bylaw 03-25 Municipal Election Voting Stations.

Voters who attend a voting station for the purpose of voting must
- be on the permanent electors register, and
- provide one piece of identification issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, or an agency of that government, that contains your photograph and home address (residential address /legal description)
OR
- make a statement that they are eligible to vote as an elector in the presence of an officer at the voting station, in the prescribed form (Form 13), and
- provide one piece of identification issued by a Canadian government, whether federal, provincial or local, or an agency of that government, that contains your photograph and home address
If your picture ID does not contain your home address but has a box number, additional verification of your home address is required (utility bill, tax/assessment notice, insurance policy, residential lease or mortgage statement or another document that shows your home address).
