2025 seasonal road bans lifted effective Wednesday, May 28 at 8 a.m.

Seasonal road bans

Seasonal road bans are applied as required to protect road infrastructure. These bans are added or lifted depending on weather conditions in the spring, summer and winter. Some bans that are placed in the spring will remain throughout the summer and are lifted once the ground is frozen. Please refer to the current road ban order to determine if any restrictions are in place.

Overweight permits

If you need to haul equipment or materials in excess of road bans, you must apply for an overweight permit. If you have a permit from the Government of Alberta, you still need to obtain permission from Leduc County to haul a load that is heavier than the posted ban limit.

Agricultural producers

If you are planning to haul grain or other cereal crops, you must get a permit (should your load weights exceed road bans). You may be eligible for a free road ban exemption permit, allowing you to haul during road ban season.

No truck routes

Heavy vehicles are prohibited from travelling on no truck routes in Leduc County. Please note that heavy vehicles hauling to areas that are part of a no truck route are allowed to haul to that location by the most direct route, obeying the road bans in place.
