About the project

The community of Orchards at Ellerslie is located west of 66 Street SW and north of 41 Avenue SW. It is a vibrant, growing community that is developing through continued investment by private developers, governed by the Orchards at Ellerslie Neighborhood Structure Plan, which received approval from Edmonton City Council on November 15, 2007 (Bylaw 14724).

To support continued growth in the Orchards neighborhood, some existing roads are being upgraded over time to accommodate growth in vehicular traffic and enhance connectivity within the Orchards community and surrounding areas.

This project is the upgrade of 41 Avenue SW from the existing rural road to an urban arterial standard required by City of Edmonton. This project is led and funded by Brookfield Residential, on behalf of the City of Edmonton. Infrastructure improvements under this project include the removal of existing rural roads, installation of sewer systems, construction of arterial road surfaces, as well as the installation of power and street lighting, shallow utilities, paved shared pathways, and landscaping. Construction will take place on 41 Avenue SW from Ewing Trail to 91 Street SW.
