Leduc County announces unofficial election results

All voting stations have reported their vote counts from election day and advance voting, and the below individuals have been elected* to serve a four-year term on Leduc County Council:

  • Division one: Rick Smith – acclaimed
  • Division two: Kelly-Lynn Lewis – received 72 per cent of the divisions' votes with 478 of 664 votes.
  • Division three: Kelly Vandenberghe – received 58.3 per cent of the divisions' votes with 549 of 941 votes.
  • Division four: Larry Wanchuk – received 50.6 per cent of the divisions' votes with 207 of 409 votes.
  • Division five: Tanni Doblanko – acclaimed
  • Division six: Glenn Belozer – received 50.3 per cent of the divisions' votes with 248 of 493 votes.
  • Division seven: Raymond Scobie – received 59.5 per cent of the divisions' votes with 273 of 459 votes.

*Results are unofficial and will become official at noon on Oct. 22.

Unofficial results indicate 41.3 per cent voter turnout, with 2,966 of the eligible 7,188 voters in divisions two, three, four, six and seven voting. This is up from 35.3 per cent voter turnout in the 2017 municipal election.

Leduc County councillors will be sworn in at the organizational meeting on Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. At this meeting, council members will appoint a mayor from amongst themselves to serve a one-year term.
