New curbside waste collection day for county customers
Starting July 2, waste bins and blue bags will be collected on Tuesdays
Urban community residents who have their waste and blue bags collected by Leduc County must be ready to transition their collection day from Thursdays to Tuesdays, starting July 2, 2024.
This collection day change applies to nearly 400 customers in the following urban neighbourhoods:
- New Sarepta
- Diamond Estates
- Lukas Estates
- Royal Oaks
- Churchill Meadows
- Irvine Creek
- Hamlet of Nisku
Per Leduc County’s Solid Waste Collection and Recycling Bylaw, it’s important for customers to remember the following:
- Before 7 a.m., waste containers and blue bags must be placed for pick up each Tuesday
- 1 metre clearance around a waste container and blue bag to ensure no obstruction will impede successful collection
- Waste containers must face forward and be placed on the edge of the road or curbside
- The lid on the container must be fully closed
- The waste collection contractor has from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. to take blue bags and empty waste containers
For more information, visit Leduc County’s website on waste and recycling or call 780-770-9040 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p. m.).
